Building A Solid Foundation
When one builds a house, one needs to make sure it is built on a solid foundation and not a weak foundation, like sand.
I know it sounds like common sense, but when we decide to accept Jesus Christ, the foundation always needs to be nurtured by reading the scriptures and praying in all that we do, and then we can build that foundation.
When I write articles, I’m not always sure where it may lead me; I searched for one scripture, and I ended up in Matthew chapter 7.
So I decided to share the entire Chapter; what an excellent chapter filled with fantastic ways to build a solid foundation.
Let us dig deep and create the foundation that matters.
In Matthew Chapter Seven, The Heading Reads;
Jesus concludes the Sermon on the Mount—He commands, Judge not; ask of God; beware of false prophets—He promises salvation to those who do the will of the Father.
Verse one we read; Judge not, that ye be not judged.
This verse is so simple, yet it can be challenging for many to accomplish; there should be no doubt that judging others is wrong unless we do it out of righteousness, which should be done out of love, leaving no room for hate in our heart.
When Someone makes me angry, I find the best thing to do is give it to God; how do I do that? I pray to God that he may help the person change and come to an understanding of the love of Jesus Christ. For I believe anger can only destroy the soul. God reminds me; the greatest commandment is love.
The devil will do all he can to take away your joy, but he can’t if you have a solid foundation build upon the teaching of Jesus Christ.
Let us continue with the rest of the Chapter.
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
Or if he asks a fish, will he give him a serpent?
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns or figs of thistles?
Even so, every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth devil fruit.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire.
Wherefore by their fruits, ye shall know them.
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine and doeth them, and I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
And it came to pass when Jesus had ended these sayings; the people were astonished at his doctrine:
For he taught them as one having authority and not as the scribes.
That includes chapter 7, which shares ways that we can begin to build a solid foundation.
Many people become bitter towards others, as it will begin to build up and destroys the soul. It can become so hard for many to come to the Lord because of shame.
For all who have sinned, let us not let sin keep us from the Love of God. We should understand that overcoming is a step-by-step process, for things do take time to work out. The best time to start is now, for tomorrow may be too late, or if you really think about it, tomorrow never comes; it’s called today.
You must desire with all your heart, it must become a passion, or you’ll lose the battle for your soul. That is why I stress the importance of prayer in many of the articles that I have written. Because without prayer, we can not have a relationship with Christ. However, it’s that way with any relationship, no communication, no relationship.
If we truly put God first, everything else will come together; when God comes first, you can’t lose. So what are we talking about; love is the foundation, serving God with all our heart, prayer in all that we do.
What we do matters so much to almighty God, and what we do in the here and now will affect our eternal soul for the eternities.
Therefore, we should do all we can to make a difference in the lives of others because that is what God asks of us, to love all people, to love ourselves enough to act; you can do it if you truly want to. I believe you can, and I want the best for you. It’s the little kind things that truly make a difference in the lives of others.
A few months ago (April 2021), a friend at work; walked up to me and said that he wanted to give me something that his daughter created in pre-school; he then mentioned that it was a rock with an easter message. He said that he wanted me to have it; of course, I was very flattered that he would think of me.
I really can’t express the importance of doing kind things towards other people; many may never react the way that I did, but I appreciate what people do for me, no matter how small or big the kindness was; if it’s a gift from the heart, it matters a great deal to me. I believe that our loved ones are in heaven, hoping that we make the right decisions and come unto Christ.
He told me that if I did not want it, I could just get rid of it.
So what was the message? There was a small piece of paper about 4″ x 4″ that had an easter message handwritten in ink.
The next day, he handed me the gift, a purple-painted rock inside a plastic bag with a couple of Disney characters printed on the clear mini snack bag. This was better than any snack I could ever eat. The message was simple and yet powerful. This came from an awesome five-year-old girl.
We are the children of God, and he loves us, so; in heaven, a plan was created; it’s called the plan of salvation. We agreed to it, which is why we are here on earth, which is excellent news for us. But, unfortunately, Satan is real and trying to disrupt the plan of salvation by making empty promises to those who follow the plan, for he is doing all he can to make us bitter and turn away from God’s love.
In a few decades, the Lord Jesus Christ is about to return, and so the Old Devil is doing all he can to stop the plan and disrupts the 2nd coming. But as Christians, we understand how all this will end.
I took the message out of the plastic bag, and it read;
JESUS IS MY ROCK!
Underneath it, it said;
Give your rock to Someone to spread the Easter message.
I thank him, and I said; this is the type of thing that I could write an article about. I could tell that he loves his little girl, and though I don’t know her, I’m blessed that I received the rock, for it is truly the foundation on which I stand. I am honored that I could share her article with you and give you the message that a five-year-old girl through her Father gave to me.
Her message again is; JESUS IS MY ROCK!
You know, to enter the kingdom of God, we must be like little children. Yes, we all need to work on our personal foundation, yes even I do. Let us love one another; God is with you. If you love this article, please share; may God bless you.
P.S. Please share this message; JESUS IS MY ROCK!
If Jesus Christ is your rock, you have a great foundation to build upon. Have a wonderful day!
