I have said it once, and I’ll shout it from the rooftop; The Scripture; ” no one knows the day nor the hour” is one of the most misunderstood scriptures, and I’ll prove it.
It might go something like this;
{DAVID} Hello Tommy, do you know that we are living in the last generation and that Jesus Christ will come back in about 30 or 40 years, give or take a few.
{Tommy} That is so false; no one knows the day or hour, only God, you know it could be a 1000 years from now!
{David} Where did you get that from?
{Tommy} I don’t know some were in the scriptures, not sure where it is located.
{David} It is in the New Testament, Matthew 24:36 and it says,
Matthew 24:36: But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
{Tommy} I told you, didn’t I, no one knows!
{David} Not so fast Tommy; according to revelation Chapter 5, because Jesus overcame the cross and was resurrected, he was given the sealed book with seven seals, and Jesus now understands the day he will be coming back because he overcame the cross and earned that right. And in return, he gave it to John the revelator, and John wrote it down. We know we have the book of revelation.
{Tommy} I’d have to see that one for myself; If that was true, my wife would have told me, for she is very religious. Not only that things can be taken out of context and nobody really knows.

There are a few things that keep Tommy from knowing the truth.
Proverbs 16:18
Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
Hosea Chapter 4:6
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Praying and studying the scriptures is vital to success in gaining knowledge. Keep praying and studying so that you can learn the truth of all things.
Read Colossians 1:9
9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
Read Revelation Chapter 5. When Jesus died for our sins, he overcame the cross. God gave him the book sealed with 7 seals, and it is then that Jesus gained this knowledge of when he would come back.
Jesus gave the sealed book to John, and he wrote it down, and so we have the book of revelation. True that no one knows the exact day or hour. But as Christians, we should understand all of the signs of his coming.
Let’s do what Tommy failed to do; Let us read revelation chapter 5 and see it for ourself for we should test everything for ourselves and pray about it.

Revelation 5
John sees the book sealed with seven seals, and he sees those people redeemed out of every nation—He hears every creature praising God and the Lamb.
1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.
5 And one of the elder’s saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.
8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odors, which are the prayers of saints.
9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne, and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing.
13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb forever and ever.
14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth forever and ever.
What you need to understand is that Jesus overcame and was given knowledge of the things to come. I learned this through prayer, and God lead me to this chapter; if we would only take the time to study and pray for it is all there. May we all strive to do better.
