    Miracle of Miracles

In the book of Jeremiah 32:27, the Lord declares that he is the Lord and the God of all humanity, and there is nothing too hard for him. And in Genesis 18, when three men visited Abraham and informed him that God would bless him with a son through his wife, Abraham believed. However, Sarah was listening from behind the tent, and she laughed in her heart. So the Lord asked Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and wonder if she will have a child? Is anything too hard for the Lord?

I can boldly attest that there is nothing too hard for God. For example, I met my husband Jackson in December 2014 while attending a Christian conference at a local university. I had just completed my university studies and had enough time to visit the weeklong meeting, and the conference had over 9,000 attendees.
The facilitators had grouped the attendees into small bible study groups. Each bible study group had around 10 participants and one facilitator. Fortunately, my husband was one of the facilitators, and I was in his bible study group.

In April 2015, four months after the conference, Jackson asked me out on a date. Before then, we had talked to each other over the phone a few times. I thought it was odd that he would ask me out on a date after so long. “Why now?” I thought.

It was a fun date. As we sat conversing, I couldn’t help but admire his stunning smile. He was quieter and blinked a lot but was a nice guy nonetheless

Over the next 16 months, Jackson and I were in constant communication and courtship. And we finally got married in November 2016 through a church wedding. It was a vibrant and happy occasion with so many guests!

But the challenges started in June 2018 when I suddenly lost my mother after a short illness. I had a close relationship with her, and her death hit me hard. At the time of her death, I was expecting my first child.

After my mother’s funeral, we went back to our home with my husband. Jackson stood by me and encouraged me, and this gave me comfort. Few months before the demise of my mother, he would complain about feeling weak in his knees. When visiting the hospitals, doctors always told him that he had a calcium deficiency and encouraged him to eat foods rich in calcium. We adhered to doctors’ instructions, but he kept feeling weak. Jackson was not experiencing any pain, and he did not have other visible symptoms.

By the time I delivered our first-born son in September 2018, my husband’s health had deteriorated, and he could barely walk. It was a great struggle for him to visit the baby and me in the hospital. Later that month, Jackson was diagnosed with Pott’s Disease. Also known as tuberculosis of the spine, the disease occurs when tuberculosis spreads outside of the lungs to the spine. If not diagnosed in time, a patient may develop angular deformity.

Unknown to us, he had been suffering from TB for over one year without our knowledge. The doctors recommended immediate surgery to remove pus, which had accumulated around a section of the spine. It was a major operation, which took eight hours.

After the operation, he was bedridden for two weeks and could not turn on his own. After discharge from the hospital, we had to hire a home care expert to assist my husband, who was in a wheelchair for three months. Jackson then started using a walking frame to help him walk and finally resolved to use one crutch.

It was a hard time for me as a young bride. Unfortunately, Jackson lost his job after the illness, and I now support the family on my own. However, through God’s help, our family does not lack.

Currently, my husband is walking again! But he is yet to regain full strength on his right knee but is getting there. One of my favorite verses today is Psalm 63:5-8:

5 For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.

6 He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.

7 On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God.

    8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him;
God is a refuge for us.

    Wrapping Up!

So, if you are going through a hard time, remember a God in heaven who hears our prayers. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers them from them all! Keep praying. Do not lose hope.
