There is no denying that the world is in chaos because of the Covid-19 virus. Everyone is scared and confused about tomorrow’s fate. But the Bible tells us worry will only weigh us down. Instead, we should be trusting God as our rock and refuge in times of trouble. After all, plagues, diseases, earthquakes, among other forms of destruction, were written about in the Bible to warn us of the evil that will befall the earth in the end times. Therefore, as Christians, we should remain hopeful and wait patiently for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

When Jesus walked the earth, teaching God’s word and converting non-believers. He was faced with the question of whether to adhere to Caesar’s taxation authority or not, and he urged people to submit to their leadership. Now, our leaders may not believe in God. But in times like these, no matter how harsh, the laws they have put in place are meant to protect us. Therefore, we urge you, brethren, to ‘listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end, you will be counted among the wise’ (proverbs 19:20). We must also continue to pray that God shines his mercy upon his children and make his grace sufficient for all. For this is the only way our government and physicians can come up with the solution to save lives.

James 1:2-4 – Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. Well, the Bible says God is love, and there is a promise of happiness for those who dwell in him. And even in times of tribulation, God’s love is still sufficient. Therefore, the fact that you are still healthy, whether you have enough food or not. You must endeavor to practice patience. You must believe that God never forsakes his people, and he will meet you at your point of need.

2 Corinthians 1:4 – He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. Our bodies might be weak enough to be infiltrated by diseases. We might be failing a thousand times driven by our sexual desires, especially because our minds are mainly idle. But the fact that every morning we wake up with the hope that the world will be better tomorrow. We should endeavor to spread hope through our words on social media, through the phone, and whatever means within our reach. For this is the hope of God in us, something that mourning families around the world are in dire need of.

Hebrews 13:16 – And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God. Many people are suffering in the world. Some have lost their jobs due to tough economic times. Others can hardly feed themselves because most countries are on lockdown to control the virus. But God has been merciful enough to you and your family, and it might be time to reach out to your next-door neighbor. If you have some extra money, buy some groceries for them, tell them that you pray for them, and they should continue holding on to their faith. The truth is that the world has become a cold place where everyone struggles with their cross, but it is your responsibility as a Christian to spread the love of Christ.

Most importantly, we would like to urge everyone not to be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).

    Conclusion

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say. (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17)
