Faith in Jesus – How Christianity changed my life
Have you ever found yourself in situations that made you feel like nothing ever works out and that life is meaningless? I am sure you have because these are things that mutually happen in all people’s lives. And believe me, I have been there too. As long as you are human, you are bound to face a lot of hardships.
For example, you have a friend, relative, or even yourself diagnosed with a chronic disease. You try seeking help from all the medics you can, but nothing is changing. The most likely thing to happen is that you will lose hope.
But do you know that you can have faith and hope to move on with life even when things are tough? But I know you are wondering how. It will only happen if you establish a firm faith in Jesus. Since I built my faith in God, I can confidently say that my life has taken a drastic turnaround. In this article, I have shared my testimonies of how my faith as a Christian has impacted my life.
Being a Christian builds my faith
Faith is the art of putting your confidence or trust in something or someone. The Bible defines it as having the certainty of things you hope for and have not seen yet. But believing in things you cannot see is not an easy thing. To fully trust something or someone, you must have an assurance that the person will be in a position to help you in every way whenever you want.
Christians believe in God, a supreme and an all-powerful being who created the universe. As God’s creation, we believe that there is nothing God cannot do for us, and that is why all our confidence is in him. Of course, I know it’s hard to believe in things you have not seen, but the Bible is full of the many great things God did in the past. And this is one reason that gives us confidence that He will do it for us too.
Let’s look at one example of one scenario from the Bible. Luke 8:43-48, the Bible tells a story of a woman who had blood flow for twelve years. I am sure she had tried all things to stop her bleeding, but nothing seemed to work. This time she saw Jesus, and since she had heard of the many miracles He had performed, she believed that He was the only solution to her problem. She believed that if only she touched the hem of His clothing, it would make her well. And immediately, she touched the helm, and her bleeding stopped instantly.
This incident and many others assure me that there no situation in my life that is hard. I am sure that by believing in God, all things will work out for good. Faith is not something that comes overnight. It develops and grows with time as you continue growing in Christianity. I must confess that becoming a Christian did not drive away problems from my life. Every day I face different situations, but I always have faith that there is a great God who has the power to do even what seems impossible to me.
Triumphing hardships
If I look back and count the difficulties I have faced in this life, they are countless. Every day seems to come with its own. Giving an example of one of my experiences. I grew up in church and always believed that God is my provider. And here comes a time in my final year on campus when I couldn’t raise my fees. Do you know what this meant? It meant missing my exams, and therefore, could not graduate. The first thing that comes to your mind in such a situation is blaming God for not providing my fees, and that is what I did.
But in the midst of all that, I remembered a scripture in Luke 12:24, “Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn, and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than birds?” Yes, I didn’t have any money now, but I believed that as a child of God, He always knows what I need. This made me regain my hope and trust in God, and in some way, He provided all the fees I needed.
There are many things we face in life. But when we become Christians, we get the right to become children of God (John 1:12). And just like parents always ensure that their children lack nothing, it the same way God will never leave us on our own and will never let us lack.
To sum it all up, I can confidently say that my life is never the same as it was years ago when I hadn’t established my faith in God. I have learned to endure hardships or have faith and learned to be patient, which helps me coexist with different people well. From my experiences, I can assure you that things will not always be smooth, but there is hope if you have faith in JESUS. You will be rejoicing even when things are not going as you desire because you know that “All things work together for good to those who love God, who are called according to His purpose,” Romans 8:28.
